Your body needs a scrub

Having beautiful and healthy skin means taking care of your entire body, and not just the face. When it comes to taking care of the body, scrubbing the body is one of the most overlooked aspects. We may be pretty regular with facial scrubbing, but the rest of the body is often neglected. Not that I blame you! Scrubbing the entire body is a tedious process. Unlike face scrubs, body scrubs take more time and effort. But it needs to be done.

Some of these cells simply fall off and it’s as easy as that. Some cells don’t make it that easy. When these cells wear out their welcome, that’s when clogged pores, oily, rough skin, and various forms of acne come to play. The most efficient way to remove the cells that are long past their prime is to exfoliate your skin. Unfortunately, many people think that equates to over exfoliating or using harsh chemical peels that ultimately: lead to the body having a harder time creating new skin cells in a natural way; leave us more vulnerable to sun damage; and even cause wrinkles, scarring, or skin lesions. Stronger doesn’t always mean better—especially in this instance. You don’t want to use harsh chemicals on your face day after day, right? However, you can use natural ingredients for skincare like sugar, olive oil, honey, or even oatmeal to get the job done just as well without the harsh side effects

Decide how and where you will use your body scrub. Where you will use your body scrub will determine what ingredients you will use. There are body scrubs for tough, calloused areas such as elbows and heels, and body scrubs for tender areas such as the lips.

Use body scrubs containing abrasive exfoliates, such as sugar, on tough, calloused areas. If you use an abrasive scrub, then you may have to moisturize your skin afterwards with lotion or body butter. Use body scrubs containing moisturizing exfoliants, such as sugar, on the rest of the body. If you want to use your scrub on your face or lips, then avoid abrasive exfoliants. Use essential oils and colorants with caution to avoid irritation

A body scrub is just one way of stimulating the lymph glands. The healthy and efficiently running lymph system, which has vessels, organs and passageways to move the lymph throughout the body is necessary to a strong immune system. The only way that lymph is moved around the body is through movement and exercise.

Such stimulation enables the lymph system to release the toxins and waste products that natually occur within the lymph system. Lymph glands can become clogged with waste when a person does not move around enough to stimulate the lymph glands. Methods to stimulate the lymph glands include regular exercise, massage and skin treatments that promote circulation through massaging action.

Massage The Body Scrub Onto The Skin In Small Circles A body scrub is applied with a gentle massage action that moves the scrub formula over the skin to dislodge dead skin cells. There is no need to apply pressure because the scrub texture does the work. When the layer of dead skin cells is removed, the skin's excretion process is enabled to carry off waste and toxic accumulations from the lymph glands and sweat glands more efficiently. A scrub can be used to prepare the skin for other skin and body treatments including aromatic wraps, healing baths, deep cleansing and moisturizing.

A body scrub alone will deep cleanse, detoxify, soften, smooth and moisturize skin. A body scrub is an excellent skin care treatment that you can do every few weeks. It is not necessary to do a body scrub much more than that. If you use a self tanner, use a body scrub to remove any dry patches before applying the tanner.

You can use a body scrub before a shower or in the shower. Either way, never apply the oily body scrub to the bottom of the feet. This will create a dangerously slippery environment. You can apply the scrub to the tops and sides of the feet and toes.

Do not use a body scrub made from white sugar, cornmeal or sea salt on the face or neck as these areas are too delicate for the scrubbing action. A more appropriate scrubbing texture for the face would be that of ground cornmeal, ground almond meal or ground brown rice.
